Hello From Port Lincoln!

Hello LEE!

I hope all is well back in Colorado. It's been over a month since arriving to Port Lincoln, South Australia. We had the chance to spend some time with the Stavropoulos family in Adelaide before heading to Port Lincoln. They were very hospitable and showed us the sights and also helped in the car buying process. We found a car in record time, 4 hours! The car managed to make it down the 6 hour drive in 45 degree heat (113 degree f). It was a hot day! Upon arriving we followed fire trucks into town and wondered where they were headed, to find out they were going the same place we were. There was a bush fire in Port Lincoln the same day! Everyone was on alert and was pretty scared since there was a disastrous fire just years before. Lincoln was lucky this time with minimal damage compared to the last fire but people's emotions were definitely stirred.

I've been teaching for a month now at Port Lincoln Primary and Junior Primary schools. It's been challenging going between the two schools and getting to know the students and staff. Everyone has been very kind and helpful during this learning process. It's exciting going to school each day and learning something new from the staff and students. I look forward to teaching Touch Footy and Cricket to the students as well as some of LEE favorites.

Outside of school I've had the chance to partake in the Port Lincoln's Tunarama festival, run a 10k race, go to the local beaches, hold kangaroos, and swim with dolphins and sea lions. It's quite nice to trade the mts. for the ocean for awhile. My goal is to hold a koala, get up on a surf board and swim with the Sharks (in a cage)before coming back home to Colorado.

Thanks for viewing the blog and I hope to update as often as possible.
Take Care!
