Koala!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the delay of updates in our adventure, it's been bit of an adjustment for us living in a different country, house, and starting new jobs. Marc and I are now feeling on top of our game and we're enjoying meeting and getting to know more people. We've been invited to a few people's homes for tea (dinner) and even to an amazing 50th b-day party of a lady I teach with at the Junior Primary School. The people of Port Lincoln are very welcoming of Marc and I and a bit curious too! Our American accent gives us away, really hard to hide that! We're enjoying each day here and saying "yes" to every opportunity that comes our way!

I got the chance to see and pet a koala for the first time. What a dream come true! They are pretty cute. I hope to be able to hold one at some point during this year. People say I'm crazy for wanting to hold one but I'm still looking into possible places where they allow you to do this.
I've also been to some horse races too! Port Lincoln is a beautiful spot to hold this kind of event.

The weather has been pretty nice since we're heading into Autumn here with sunny days and little wind. A P.E. teachers dream:) We've also have had some rainy days too which can make for challenging p.e. lessons, that's when the cupstacks and creative lessons come into play. I'm enjoying teaching the students some of their Australian games like Touch Footy, a form of rugby. The students are teaching me a lot too! There has been some funny moments with the language at times like which American "naughty" words aren't considered Aussie "naughty" words. Everyone at both schools have been very helpful and kind as I transition between the two schools throughout the week. I have my backpack on wherever I go! I'm going to be known as the bag lady around town since I walk everywhere with all my gear:)

We have one week left of 1st term then we have a 2 week break. Time has gone by fast! I hope to post more photos when we return from our travels. We'll be traveling to Kangaroo Island, Melbourne and Airlie Beach. We'll hopefully get to see many diverse areas.

I hope all is well in Colorado. I hear you've had a couple of Snow Days just before your Spring Break. I hope you all have had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break. Hopefully you'll get in JRFH soon!

I think of LEE often and the great people that make it such a great school to teach.
Until next time! Take Care!
